Nathan Hathorn is the owner of Silverthorne Property Management, LLC a real estate management, investing, and development company, as well as the owner of Silverthorne Insurance Brokers, LLC, an independent insurance agency. Both of Nathan’s businesses are based out of Abilene, TX. Abilene is located two hours west of Dallas/Ft. Worth and two hours East of Midland on the I20 corridor. Abilene is home to Dyess Air Force Base, five local colleges, two hospitals that service the entire Big Country, an investor-friendly city council & manager, and a stable economy. Nathan’s company, Silverthorne Investments, specializes in rehabbing and stabilizing commercial properties.  Silverthorne’s investment strategy is to hold the properties for the long term and lease them for cash flow. Nathan has a keen eye for a deal and the mindset of an entrepreneur. Since he started investing in April of 2017, he has acquired over 65 doors split between over 25 properties. As a native of Abilene, he has been able to leverage the popular saying, “It’s all about who you know”, to find outstanding off-market deals, keep construction costs low, and easily find great tenants, all of which ultimately help to maximize net profits. Nathan is a strong believer in taking quick action on calculated risks when a property fits within Silverthorne’s model. With his twelve years of experience in the insurance industry, Nathan has been able to develop key relationships with local bankers, realtors, contractors, fellow local business owners, and other local real estate investors. This has given him a competitive advantage and ultimately led to above-average returns on his personal investments. The Abilene market is extremely hot, but Nathan is at the forefront in the commercial space. There are properties available now that are primed for development and Silverthorne is seeking private capital in order to be able to circumvent the cumbersome and time-consuming process involved in traditional bank financing.
